As I Recall, Scott Walker Has Had One Big Truthiness Moment

Yes, Scott Walker's words have been rated "false" at some level in 31 of 48 statements vetted by PolitiFact, and, yes, he hid his anti-union "divide and conquer" plan from workers and citizens during the 2010 Gubernatorial campaign, and yes, his taxpayer-paid County staff established a secret political communications system 25 from his door, and yes, he's the first Wisconsin Governor to establish a criminal defense fund as a John Doe probe run by a judge and District Attorney has snared and criminally-charged former aides, appointees and contributors - - but let's give him his due.

He's had a moment of truth-telling - - admitting, on camera (!), that limitations on public sector collective bargaining and union representation he'd sought and obtained through his controversial deficit and budget-repair bill known as Act 10 "didn't save any [taxpayer] money."

Why did Walker come clean on that? Why the noteworthy exception to the script of secrecy and false-speaking that we now know began during the 2010 campaign?

Because he was testifying before Congress.

That's what it takes to wrench the truth out of this Eagle Scout.
